Some of our recent projects include:
- Huntington’s Disease Prevalence and Associated Rates in the United States
This project involves a systematic literature review and application of meta-analytic techniques to establish a most likely range for the current prevalence of Huntington’s disease in the United States with respect to relevant contextual factors. - Tardive Dyskinesia Prevalence and Incidence in Neuroleptic-Treated Populations in the United States
This project involves a systematic literature review and weight-of-evidence analysis to determine a range of plausible values for the US incidence/prevalence of tardive dyskinesia within the context of critical modifying factors. - Occupational Exposure to Organic Solvents and Neurobehavioral Deficits
This project involves designing and conducting a cohort study of all employees of a petroleum refinery over a 70 year period, and includes the development and assessment of data collection instruments and job-exposure matrices (JEM) to determine the relationship between neurobehavioral deficits and occupational exposure to organic solvents. - Cancer and Other Chronic Conditions Among an Exposed Kentucky Community
This project involves conducting an original epidemiologic study of cancer incidence rates and respiratory disease prevalence rates in a community exposed to industrial site-related contaminants compared to multiple control populations, and includes an extensive literature review and weight-of-evidence analysis of the associations between specific environmental contaminants and cancer and other chronic conditions. - A Study of Embryonal Tumor Rates in a Community Exposed to Hazardous Waste
This project involves conducting an original epidemiologic study of incidence of neuroblastoma in a community exposed to hazardous waste from a munitions manufacturing and disposal site compared to multiple control populations, and includes an extenstive literature review and weight-of-evidence analysis of the associations between specific environmental contaminants and neuroblastoma. - Pediatric and Adult Cancers in a Community Exposed to Coal Tar
This project involves conducting an orignial epidemiologic study of the incidence of pediatric and adult cancers in a community exposed to coal tar from a former manufactured gas plant (FMGP) compared to local, state, and national reference rates, and includes an extensive literature review and weight-of-evidence analysis of the associations between coal tar and cancer
